Anthony Lister who was featured in HOT#7 opened his latest solo show in New York at the Lyons Wier Gallery last night. In attendance were his usual tied up superheroes, this time with one hanging upside down from the ceiling. As evident by the artwork, Lister continues to explore his fascination with superheroes through paintings, drawings, custom action figures, and sculptures.

Mark Whalen a.k.a Kill Pixie is a painter and installation artist whose work as graffiti artist on the streets of Sydney, Australia earned him an uncanny understanding of space and scale. Nowadays his choice of medium is mostly ink and acrylic on paper, mounted on wood and dripping in resin but include larger constructions in wood, fabric, metal and site specific murals.

Mark Whalen is also featured in The House of Tate issue #17 which has just been published.

"Infinity" was a group exhibition of artists whose practices or aesthetics related to the many facets of the infinite. The Vastness of this concept was explored through painting, drawing, photography, and 3D multi-media installation. The subject matter as well as the medium varied greatly. Some artists' work was a more literal representation of this subject, suggestive of such things as mathematics, space, time, technology, abstraction, pattern, or repetition, while others chose to address the opposite or "finite", such as fragility, mortality, the temporary, and even doomsday scenarios.
